If you’ve tried AI tools like ChatGPT or Gemini, you’ve probably noticed the results can

vary. Sometimes it nails your voice. Other times, it feels a little flat. The difference often comes down to one thing: personalization.

The Keller Williams AI Playbook* calls this creating a Master Prompt. It’s how you train your AI assistant to know you, your tone, your style, your business goals, so it can consistently deliver results that sound like you.

Why Personalization Matters

When you personalize AI, you move it from a tool to a true assistant. As the Playbook explains:

“A ‘Master Prompt’ combines personalization and memory tailored directly to you.”

Think of it as teaching your assistant your preferences one time, so it remembers them every time.

What a Master Prompt Does

A good Master Prompt sets expectations for:

Communication style (step-by-step, plain English, or detailed).

Business insights (your niche, ideal clients, and goals).

The Playbook compares it to teamwork on a bike:

“Think of AI as a tandem bicycle. You sit in the front seat deciding where to go, when to turn, and at what pace. AI sits squarely behind you adding power and partnership to everything you do.”

How to Build Your Master Prompt

Here’s a step-by-step way to create one:

Choose Your Communication Style Example: “I prefer clear, friendly writing that avoids jargon and uses short sentences.”
Add Personal Insights Example: “My name is Jenni. I’m a real estate agent who loves helping first-time buyers. I value honesty, education, and trust.”
Add Business Instructions Example: “I focus on residential real estate in Palm Beach County. My ideal clients are young families and move-up buyers. My biggest pain point is time spent on repetitive marketing tasks.”
Save and Reuse Copy your full Master Prompt into each AI tool you use. Update it over time as your business evolves.

Pro Tip

The Playbook shares a simple trick to take personalization further:

“Want your LLM to remember new details about you? Just say ‘Remember this…’ and watch your assistant get smarter by adding new details to your memory.”
